Health Benefits
Managing each of your pets individual diets, accurately measuring portions, and monitoring food intake can support the following:
Detecting Illness
Identifying changes in eating behaviour from your pet’s normal can be an indication of disease. Learn more about infectious diseases and prevention in cats.
Early diagnosis of hyperthyroidism
Cats with hyperthyroidism tend to have an increased appetite which can be picked up by using SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder Connect.
Diabetes diagnosis
Pets that have recently become diabetic will have an increased appetite. SureFeed products can help to detect changes in appetite, which is important for monitoring treatment success in diabetic pets.
Weight management programs
Using SureFeed pet feeders will help with the successful implementation of weight management programs by ensuring the right pet has access to the right amount of food and no access to other pet's food.
The connection with your pet just got better
Once the Microchip Pet Feeder Connect is connected to the Sure Petcare App via the Hub, owners can select the amount of food and how often they feed their pet. This activates the LED lights on the front of the feeder, allowing you to see when the correct amount of food has been added to the bowl.
With the app, owners can view the frequency, duration and times of feeding, as well as the amount that a pet has eaten, to provide a greater insight into their pet’s feeding behaviour.
The Microchip Pet Feeder Connect links to the Sure Petcare App via the Hub, which is connected to your home router. Each Hub can connect up to ten Sure Petcare devices, including our connected doors and Felaqua® Connect.

The importance of managing mealtimes
- The need for good nutrition and feeding patterns are extremely important through a cat’s lifetime to maintain good overall health and reduce the risk of developing associated health conditions.
- With multi-pet households continuing to increase, microchip enabled products can help prevent certain behaviour-related issues that could have been avoided. According to a Sure Petcare survey, food stealing has been experienced by 44% of multi-pet owners. (1)
- Pet obesity is increasing in all regions. With 46% of dogs and 34% of cats being classed as overweight by UK veterinarians, almost three in four (72%) owners had over-fed their pets, while two thirds (64%) of pet owners had never used weighing scales to measure out their pet’s food. (1)
