Exzolt® for Backyard chickens
Poultry red mite (Dermanyssus gallinae) is a blood-feeding ectoparasite that has significant welfare and production implications for chickens.
Mites will feed on chickens during the night and then hide in the cracks and crevices of chicken coops during the day. This nocturnal nature, combined with the subtle initial signs presented by the chickens, means it is possible for infestations to go unrecognised for long periods of time.
Mite bites are painful and induce skin irritation, contributing to high stress levels in infested birds.
